I want every one to take a good look at their light switch. You know the one you pull to turn the lights on in your house. When NEPA or  generator is working. The reason you pull that string to turn the lights on with confidence is because it has been safe to do that.

Supposing some one told you that there is a one in a thousand chances that when you pull that light switch, that you would be electrocuted to death, how many times would you dare pull that string? I know I will go back to uri ntu. I will not pull that string even once. Because that first time I pull that string could be that one in a thousand chances that I would get electrocuted.

Let us talk about corruption and financial frauds in Nigeria. If you were told that if you committed financial fraud or participated in corrupt practices in Nigeria, that there was a one in a thousand chances that you would be caught, prosecuted, convicted and jailed, would you participate in corruption and financial frauds? What if you are told that there is a zero chance of being caught, prosecuted, convicted and jailed for corrupt practices and financial frauds in Nigeria, what would be your proclivity to commit financial crimes in Nigeria?

All these noise about corruption and financial frauds in Nigeria are beginning to sound like broken records. If the chances of being caught, prosecuted, convicted and jailed are one in ten, then we will make progress. Right now the chances are zero. And many are opting to take their chances. And they are doing it without regrets.
